Kim Hyunwoo, keyboardist of the band DICKPUNKS, released his first solo album approximately 10 years after his debut. The album title HIANO combines his name HYUNWOO and PIANO. Built upon his understated melodies and unembellished vocal style, the album exists between the boundary of a “boy and an adult,” embracing the purity he continues to hold onto, the memories and emotions he reflects upon at the beginning of a new chapter, and the hope he carries toward the future. From 〈Love, Blow Away〉, which captures the excitement of a first encounter, 〈The Box of Memories〉, reflecting on moments from the past, 〈Looking at the Sky〉, where relationships and loss transform the way one sees the world, 〈In That Forest〉, a message of comfort to someone precious, 〈Dream〉, a long-held dream finally brought into the world, to the instrumental track 〈HIANO〉, where he expresses his present self through the language of piano rather than words — the album does not pursue a grand narrative or dramatic statement. Instead, it unfolds through small and personal moments such as love, memories, cherished things, comfort, and dreams held close for a long time, gradually forming a sincere perspective of one person. The girl appearing in the photographs is a metaphor for all that blooms through connection — love, excitement, curiosity, innocence, the awkward process of growth, dreams, apologies and gratitude. The album booklet was designed like opening a handwritten note or someone’s personal notebook. Paper textures, hand-drawn elements, actual songwriting notes, his beloved family cat Shori, and the blue paper airplane released into the sky become visual elements that convey his memories and dreams.
밴드 딕펑스의 키보디스트 김현우가 데뷔 후 약 10년 만에 발표한 첫 솔로 앨범. 앨범명 HIANO는 HYUNWOO와 PIANO를 결합한 이름으로, 담백한 선율과 꾸밈없는 창법을 가진 그의 앨범 중심에는 '소년과 어른의 경계'에서 여전히 간직해가는 순수, 새로운 시작 앞에서 돌아보는 지나온 기억과 감정, 그리고 미래를 향한 희망이 있다. 첫 만남의 설렘을 담은 〈사랑아 불어라〉, 지나온 시간을 돌아보는 〈기억의 상자〉, 관계와 상실을 통해 세상을 새롭게 바라보게 되는 〈하늘을 본다〉, 소중한 사람에게 전하는 위로인 〈그 숲속〉, 오랜 시간 간직해 온 꿈을 비로소 세상에 꺼내는 〈꿈〉, 그리고 말보다 피아노로 자신의 현재를 들려주는 연주곡 〈HIANO〉까지. 앨범은 거대한 서사나 극적인 메시지를 이야기하진 않지만 - 사랑, 추억, 소중한 것, 위로, 오래 품어온 꿈처럼 - 작고 개인적인 것들로 하나씩 이어지며 한 사람의 시선을 자연스럽게 완성한다. 사진에 등장하는 소녀는 - 사랑과 설렘, 탐구, 순수함, 서툰 성장, 꿈, 미안함과 고마움처럼 - 사람과 사람 사이 피어나는 모든 것에 대한 메타포이다. 앨범 책자는 한켠에 적어둔 글이나 누군가의 수첩을 열어보듯 구성했다. 종이, 손그림의 질감, 실제 작곡노트, 그의 소중한 가족인 회색고양이 쇼리, 하늘에 날려보내는 파란 종이비행기와 함께 기억과 꿈을 말하는 그의 이야기를 들여다보게 된다.

A note head was added to the end of the vertical stroke of the letter “H,” transforming the logo into a musical note. Hand-drawn with colored pencils, it expresses the album’s warm and pure musical sentiment.
H의 세로 획 끝에 음표 머리를 더해 전체 형태가 하나의 음표처럼 보이도록 디자인했다. 색연필 손그림으로, 앨범이 가진 따뜻하고 순수한 음악적 정서를 시각화했다.
