Senses and thoughts are constantly changing, and life continues into new flows. Sensory Flows began from the idea of observing the present self within that ongoing movement. Rather than defining him through a fixed image of perfection, the project approached YESUNG as a person in the midst of change. As his first full-length album, it became an opportunity to reveal aspects of him that had remained less visible throughout years of concept-driven group activities. The project sought environments where the aspects of YESUNG revealed through his own words, the qualities that felt uniquely his, and more personal sides of his identity could naturally emerge. Film photography was extensively utilized, embracing the unexpected occurrences within the planned direction — changing weather, the artist’s mood, and subtle variations that naturally emerged during the process. Following Sensory Flows, the Floral Sense LP Edition was developed, followed by the creative direction of YESUNG’s first Japanese solo album, 『君という桜の花びらが僕の心に舞い降りた。』 The photographic approach viewed the subject as an individual presence rather than reducing them to a predefined image. Rather than pursuing fast and efficient image production, it favored accumulated photographic craft and an analogue process. The project's direction aligned well with the working approach of the Japanese photographer who collaborated on the project. From location scouting in Tokyo and Kamakura to production planning and the overall shoot, the entire process was directed with a focus on capturing the moments and atmosphere naturally created between the person and the space, even within the constraints of large-scale commercial production, the direction focused on preserving the atmosphere naturally created between the person and the space.
감각과 생각은 끊임없이 변화하고, 삶은 또 다른 흐름으로 이어진다. Sensory Flows는 이러한 흐름 속에서 현재의 자신을 바라보는 것에서 출발했다. 특정적이고 완벽한 이미지로의 정의가 아니라, 변화의 흐름에 있는 한 사람을 바라본 방식에 가깝다. 데뷔 후 첫 정규앨범이었고, 컨셉으로 입혀진 그룹 활동 속에서 충분히 드러나지 않았던 그의 색을 담아내고자했다. 그의 말 속에서 이해하게 된 그의 모습과 내가 바라본 '예성다운' 면모, 꽤나 개인적인 면들이 자연스럽게 드러나는 환경을 찾았다. 필름 촬영 방식을 적극적으로 활용했고, 어느정도 의도한 방향 안에서도 - 변화하는 날씨, 아티스트의 기분 등 - 모든 요소가 호흡하며 즉흥적으로 일어나는 현상 그대로를 포용하는 형식으로 풀었다. 정규 1집 Sensory Flows 발매 이후, 'Floral Sense' LP Edition 작업을 진행했으며, 이후 일본 첫 솔로 앨범 **『君という桜の花びらが僕の心に舞い降りた。』까지 함께 디렉션을 이어갔다. 사진은 피사체를 하나의 존재로 프레임없이 바라보는 태도를 갖는다. 빠르고 효율적인 이미지 제작 방식보다 오랜 시간 축적된 촬영 기술과 아날로그적 접근을 선택하고, 예성을 한 사람으로 바라보고자 했던 프로젝트 방향과 당시 협업했던 일본 포토그래퍼의 방식이 잘 맞았다. 도쿄와 가마쿠라 현지 답사부터 로케이션 선정, 촬영 기획까지 전 과정을 진행했으며, 산업 특성상 대규모 참여인원이나 제한된 제작 환경 안에서도 가능한한 공간과 인물이 만나며 발생하는 순간의 분위기가 살아있도록 의도했다.
